Marcia asked if I could come up with a 5 minute Penguin. She should know that I like nothing more than a challenge. These are two views of the same little fellow. Sorry about the bow tie. I couldn't help myself.

This little Penguin is carved from a 3/4 x 3/4 inch x 2 inch piece of basswood. It's carved on the corner. I titled this post "Possible 5 Minute Penguin" because it might take less time for some, or more, for others.
Any and all suggestions for improvements are welcomed.
Oh for doggone that lil' guy is adorable!! I'm just grinning over here.. and now I have a BIG decision to make..
ReplyDeleteDo I work with fifteen heads of broccoli and get them in the freezer or do I go cut me some wood for penguins? Oh..the torture....
I knew you could do it Tom.. thanks a bunch for giving it a try. I can see little red and white polka dot ties on the lil fellow...
Marcia.
He had to have a bow tie. All respectable penguins sport them.
ReplyDeleteHi Tom, I had to come back to this post and tell you I carved up a little penguin! I had to use 1x1x2 inch block since thats what I had. It took me about 20 mins to get the basic shape...and another 10 to clean up and get a bow tie in. I dont have a camera at the moment but as soon as I do I'll get a picture to you! By then I might have a ..oh oh..what do you call a group of penguins? gaggle? carved up.
