Christmas Giveaway 2009

By now, even the first time blog visitor, knows that I carve and quilt. In anticipation of this years Christmas season, I am contemplating a give away. What I have in mind is combining carving and quilting. I'd like to combine the two into one piece. The finished piece will be given away in time for Christmas. I am intentionally being rather vague, because I want suggestions for such a piece.

There will be more about this later, but one thing is for sure! Each person who leaves a comment with a description of an item that combines both carving and quilting will get one chance at the drawing. Those that are followers of my blog will naturally get additional chances. And multiple submissions are extra fine.

So, start thinking!!! And start commenting!

How about 2 carved gnomes/santas standing across from each other with a clothes line strung up in between them. On the clothes line could be some mini quilts....

Or....a mini feather tree with a bunch of mini carved santas on it and a quilted tree skirt

Thanks Lisa! An Advent calendar, with pockets. As I recall there's d be about 30 pockets. That'd be about 30 carved items...I better start soon. It's a great idea!
Thanks

Most Advent calendars are 25 days starting with the 1st day of December. Or just the 12 days of Christmas like the song...

Things like a Candycane, star, package. The 12 days of Christmas would be more detailed items...
Can't wait to see what you create..

I think a carved quilt would be awesome! And if I remember correctly, you have actually carved quilt pieces before as well. I can't wait to see what you decide on!

A framed wooden quilt! Isn't that just a neato idea? Same idea as Soukies had.

Carve a minature bed and cover with a quilt.

Quilt with a handcarved quilt holder. I need an extra large queen size so that it will fit my double pillow-top mattress when I actually need to use the quilt.
MOF, make the above mini bed...queen size too. ;o)

I love the advent calander idea- could do figures that belong in a Nativity scene in each pocket!
Cant wait to see what you decide!

Oh, how fun. What about a Santa with a carved quilt coat surrounded by gnomey children? Wait, to fit both criteria how about a carved santa with a quilted coat surrounded by gnomey children?
Have a great day!

How about a mini shadow box. The back being a quilt with Gnomey sitting on the shelf part on a mushroom with a quilted top.Maybe with a paint brush in his hand, painting the quilt.
