Beginning next week I'll be posting a step-by-step tutorial on carving a small Santa head. As in the photo, the Santa can either stand on its own, or it have an eye placed in the top for hanging on a tree. This little Santa is carved from Basswood, using a knife. Santa's beard is done with a small U gouge.

Carving A Santa Ornament
Beginning next week I'll be posting a step-by-step tutorial on carving a small Santa head. Yeah! I have knife in hand and ready to try. Ok, I don't have the wood. I must find wood! Will you suggest types of wood for us, Tom? Maybe where we can get it, too? I don't have a hobby store near, I may have to do a shopping excursion.
Well, it's about flippin' time,Tom! ;) I'm looking forward to it. After all, you're the guy who taught me to do 5-minute wizards which then morphed into some of my most popular Santa ornaments.
