Carvings On A Skewer!

Decided to drill holes through some of my smaller carvings and "string" them on a skewer. Got the idea from the "friendship Cane" projects that woodcarvers sometimes get into. The friendship canes are canes or walking sticks that are made up of individual blocks that have been carved, and strung on a pipe or dowel. Usually a group of carvers sign up to be a part of the friendship cane effort. Each carver starts out with a 2"x2"x3" block of wood, with a 5/8" hole drilled through it. The carvers can carve anything they wish out of, or on the individual block. If there are 10 carvers, each would carve 10 blocks, or cane segments. Each carver would send one of his/her cane segments to the others that are participating. Single friendship canes are sometimes done for raffle or auction.
This one is not quite finished yet. Still have some painting to do.

I found you through Kaaren of the Painted Quilt. I have loved seeing your Santas! I especially love your Gnomey adventures with the Flower Girls. I wish I would have had a neighbor like you when my kids were small. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Have a great weekend.
